George Birkadze
George Birkadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. He began his dance training at the National Academy of Dance of Tbilisi with Wahtang Chabukiany, and in 1991 he was invited to attend the school of the Bolshoi Ballet, graduating with honours in Classical Ballet, Pas de Deux, and Traditional Dance. George was awarded the Gold Medal in Moscow in the area of world history and literature. Upon graduating from the Bolshoi Academy, George was invited to join the Kremlin Ballet by former Bolshoi principal dancer, Ekaterina Maximova, While at Kremlin he worked under Erick Volodin and Yuri Grigorovich. Some of his many roles at the Kremlin include "the Jester" in Swan Lake, "Mercutio" and "The Clown" in Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Tom Sawyer, Napoleon Bonaparte, etc. George has participated in numerous galas in which he interpreted works by Y. Grigorovich, A. Petrov, and V. Valsiliev. In 1996, he was awarded the Bronze Medal in Luxemburg, and Silver Medal in Russia. 

Apon moving to Europe, George performed and traveled with Angel Corella´s troupe Stars of American Ballet. During this period he choreographed numerous works for Angel Corella including "In a Coma" and "Celaje". At this time he also danced in the famed Liceo Opera House in Barcelona, Spain. 

In 2007, George accepted a contract with the newly created Corella Ballet in Spain where he danced many principal roles some of which include Macbeth, Twyla Tharp´s In the Upper Room, Taming of the Shrew, Corsaire, and Golpak. In 2010, George was offered a contract with the Sarasota Ballet where he now dances as a soloist.
