Protégé & Stars Invitational Dance Festival

Festival Ballet Theatre simultaneously attracts the best in professional dance to its home base while sending its own dancers out as artistic ambassadors to the world.

This inaugural dance festival, in association with Youth America Grand Prix, presents an artistic and visual display of the development of distinguished dancers from across the country. Featuring young dancers as well as up and coming artists and world renowned performers, Protégé & Stars presents the audience with some of the most talented dancers in the world of ballet. The stars of today meet the stars of tomorrow.

We are excited to welcome Ailey II and Houston Ballet II to this event.

Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country's best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today's most outstanding emerging choreographers. Combining a rigorous tour schedule and extensive outreach, Ailey II has become one of the most popular dance companies in the country.

Houston Ballet II is the second company of Houston Ballet, America’s fourth largest ballet company. Featuring a stellar array of young artists, HB II performs a wide array of dance works, ranging from excerpts from the great classics such as The Sleeping Beauty to contemporary works by Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch.

Youth America Grand Prix, the world's largest student scholarship competition, will be bringing top award-winning dancers from their selective competitions.
