Raydel Caceres
Born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, Raydel Caceres
began studying dance at the age of 8 with Mabel Carillo at the
Professional School of Arts Raul Sanchez in his city of birth. He
continued his training at the National School of Ballet (E.N.A) in
Havana, Cuba, under the tutelage of Marta Ulloa and Ramona de Saa Belo.
In 1997, Caceres began his professional career with Centro De Promocion
De La Danza De Cuba, directed by dance master Laura Alonso, and has
since toured internationally performing classical and contemporary
pieces in Brazil, Cuba, South Africa, South Korea and the United
States. His vast repertoire includes mainly principal roles in ballets
such as Carmen, Cinderella,
Coppelia, Don Quixote, Esmeralda,
Giselle, La Baydere, La Fill Mal Gardee, La
Vivandiere, Le Corsaire, Napole,
The Nutcracker, Paquita, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan
Lake. A recipient of the silver medal at the International
Festival of Joinville, Brazil (2000) and the gold medal from Sao Paulo,
Brazil (2005), he has danced in international competitions from
Jackson, Mississippi to Seoul, South Korea. Caceres has also been
invited to perform with the Cuban Classic Ballet of Miami, Blankenship
Ballet Company, and as a guest artist at the XII International Festival
of Miami. This is his first season with Festival Ballet Theatre.
