Festival Ballet Theatre is dedicated to building cultural awareness and arts education in southern California. Consequently, FBT is involved in community outreach programs throughout Orange County and reaches more than 10,000 students every year.

The Ballet to School Program brings abridged, narrated versions of ballet favorites to individual elementary and middle schools throughout Southern California. This program, which is presented through the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s “Arts Teach”, visits ten to fifteen schools every year and performs over twenty assemblies.

The Invitation to the Ballet Program makes it possible for elementary school children to see an abridged, narrated version of The Nutcracker ballet in a professional setting. Students observe the ballet in a theater – complete with professional sets and costumes. Ticket price is $8.00 and schools are invited to make reservations for field trips and download a Study Guide. This program is sponsored by corporate donations.

Community Involvement

The Community Outreach Program is designed to reach all segments of the community. Several customized presentaions bring classical ballet performances to libraries, fairs, malls and even clubs, for the purpose of promoting cultural awareness and educating a diverse audience. Festival Ballet Theatre collaborates with several arts organizations such as Imagination Celebration, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Festival of the Children and Long Beach Symphony Orchestra.
