Beckanne Sisk and Fabrice Calmels return to the Festival Ballet Theatre stage to perform the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier pas de deux. They were our guest artists in 2013.
Born in Texas, Beckanne studied at Longview Ballet Theater until she was fourteen. She competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2007-2010. She joined Ballet West II in 2010 and was promoted to principal in 2015. She has performed leading roles in Anna Marie Holmes Don Quixote, John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet and Adam Sklute’s adaptation of Giselle, among others. Reality TV fans may recall her as one of the stars of the CW show Breaking Pointe.
Fabrice Calmels was born and raised in France, where he began ballet training at the young age of 3. He studied at the Paris Opera School. In America, he trained with The Rock School, School of American Ballet and Boston Ballet. He also danced with the Pennsylvania Ballet. In 2002, he joined the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago and has performed in Age of Innocence, Apollo, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Othello among others. He has appeared on television many times and is a model and choreographer as well.
Hey guys! It has been exactly 8 years since I first got the chance to embody the title role of Othello. It was such an incredible experience. As a child I watched the beast Desmond Richardson dancing it. It was mind-blowing watching him in that role. FYI, I heard it might be coming back sooner than we think.
