What happens when you put together Orange County’s premier professional ballet company with the OC’s premier shopping destination? A beautiful collaboration, wonderful images, and performances.
In 2017, Festival Ballet Theatre partnered with SOCO and the OC Mix on a series of photo shoots and activations including pop-up performances, ticket giveaways, and even a billboard on the 405 to promote Nutcracker Season! South Coast Collection (SOCO) and the OC Mix is a unique shopping destination in Costa Mesa, CA that includes design showrooms, furniture store, restaurants and clothing boutiques. The partnership was a good fit because both FBT and SOCO cater to families with an eye for good design and style, as well as a love for the arts. It was a great way to create awareness about our professional dance company and our Nutcracker ballet, but more importantly, it spread our passion for the art of ballet!

Interior designer Audra Wrightson designed a window display at SOCO and the OC Mix featuring vintage costumes from Festival Ballet Theatre. The window attracted many visitors and was on display for the month of December.
Festival Ballet Theatre images were used prominently in promotional materials including flyers, postcards, posters and even an LED Billboard on the freeway!
Our Festival Ballet Theatre trainees and Southland Ballet Academy students participated in Costa Mesa’s Artventure showcase and also a mini-performance during SOCO Holidays and Storytime at the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity also at SOCO and the OC Mix.
